MY 'RUNNING LATE' ROUTINE

Ah, the dreaded sound of the iPhone alarm. Who's also guilty of pressing the snooze button one too many times? Getting ready in a hurry is still an art i need to master, with my morning skincare routine, putting makeup on and then deciding an outfit, this can take some time. But it's not impossible. Read below if you want to know how i get ready in a hurry!

Firstly i'll wipe away any eye makeup that wouldn't budge the evening before with the Garnier 2in1 eye makeup remover. I swear by Cien cotton wool pads you can get from Lidl for 48p (there's 140 in a pack!)  And then my favourite cleanser to use at the moment is the Camellia and Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser from Pai Skincare. It's amazing for my sensitive skin and gives an immediate glow. After this i'll follow up with their Instant Calming Day Cream. Even when i'm in a rush, i will never skip out skincare, especially since my skin has suffered from the lack of care i was giving it. My only problem is my combination and very sensitive skin, so trying out new products is always a little daunting, i really swear by Pai skincare and it's done wonders for me.

Another great product i use alongside this when I'm in a rush, is the Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream. As it hydrates under my eyes (which have some serious baggage...) but also acts as great prep for flawless concealer application. It's a product i discovered inside one of my Birchboxes that my boyfriend ordered for me, and i've been using it ever since. Having a built in primer it makes my concealer last longer. And the bags under my eyes are something I'm self conscious about so i'm really glad i found this product, and would definitely recommend it. Once this is all done ill apply some Carmex lip balm, ready to then move on to makeup. But not before the most important step in my running late routine...

On a day when i'm not in a rush and have just had a shower, a simple pleasure of mine is just lounging around in my towel after i've moisturised (and this is where i'll procrastinate rather than getting ready). However if you're like me, and hit the snooze button one too many times, it's basically impossible to have time to moisturise when you're in a hurry.

The super hydrating moisture mist is fast acting and quickly absorbs. So for those of you who love your silky soft smooth skin but also wanted those extra minutes in bed, this product needs to be your new go to.

It comes in a handy collapsible airtight tube, which is really great if you're on the move and/or in a rush. This life saver joined me on my trip to London for my boyfriends birthday (I think i was the best smelling person Stamford Bridge has ever had). And for 125ml it's only seven pounds at Boots currently, although that may get you to question how much usage you can get out of the bottle? It's a plenty Sixty three averagely*. Sixty three!! It's also a 360 degree spray, which means you can spray at any angle. So yes, even the parts you usually miss will be smelling scent-sational.

It's whats on the inside that counts too right? This product is packed with jojoba seed oil, coconut and sweet almond. It also has a delicious sugar cane juice, which is a special light emollient which helps to give the silky smooth finish. If you're a lover of the famous Righteous Butter, then you'll love this as it's scented with the original pink rose and bergamot fragrance. Oh, and, it's also 3 for 2 at Boots at the moment. What are you waiting for?!

When it comes to makeup, one of my new years resolutions is to try and feel more confident leaving the house without makeup on. I've got very light eyebrows and i hate the amount of breakouts i get regularly on my chin. Because of this i'm trying to master the 'no makeup' makeup look, and this look comes in handy when you're running late.

A base I'm loving at the moment is the Glo Minerals Protective Liquid Foundation in Satin. I was introduced to this amazing brand by my boyfriends sister (check out her amazing company Another Little World and the treatments offered here.) The foundation is talc free and it's ingredients provide nutrients that maintain the skins healthy radiance, it's completely unique to any other foundation I've ever used and can provide the perfect sheer coverage i need when I'm on the go.

After this i will quickly apply some concealer, i really love the Maybelline Fit Me concealer for when I'm aiming for the natural look (and it hides the fact i only woke up a couple of minutes ago.) Next up i'll use the Soap and Glory DIY Brow Bar and i'll use the powder through my brows to give them some colour and definition. I can't leave the house without this step (if i was stranded on an island and could only have one item, it would probably be this.) Then i'll give my lashes some volume with the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara. I absolutely love this mascara, it gives my lashes amazing definition and length, and two sweeps is all you need. To finish things up i'll pop a few dabs of the Iconic London Illuminator on my cheekbones and set it all with with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

If i've got some minutes to spare i'll quickly contour my face with the Maybelline Master Sculpt and add some colour to my cheeks with the Soap and Glory Made You Blush before using the illuminator. This however does go against my new years resolution of wearing less makeup, but then makes me look a little more awake, so it's a conflicting choice.

And finally, what to wear?

Thank god for staples. I'm the absolute worst when it comes to deciding what to wear, and of course being in a rush there is simply no time to get everything out and plan an outfit (and then decide to wear the first outfit i chose anyway...) My Topshop Black Jamie Jeans go with practically everything and this In the Style Camel Teddy Coat  is so comfy but also looks like i put some effort into my outfit.

I always tend to wear heels, whether this is to reduce the amount of small comments i receive or because i feel slightly empowering when i can hear my heels walking down the street.... who knows. But despite being in desperate need of some new trainers, my Black Adidas Superstars are great for busy days when I'm in a rush.

And then finally, i'll put my gold hoop earrings on ready to conquer the day.

What's your go to 'running late' routine? Let me know in the comments!
